Well, it has been 5 weeks since the big day and I'm just now getting this on here. Being a mommy has definitely put everything else on the back burner!
Here's the story: My water broke at 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 13 - Samantha's due date. We got to St. Mary's around 5:30 and waited for Dr. Vick to arrive. Of course, Sam was still breech, so I was taken into the operating room for a C-section. Samantha was born at 7:35, weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 22 inches long. One of Sam's hospital pics
We spent 3 days at the hospital and came home on Saturday night. Life is definitely different, but we are enjoying it.After Samantha's first church setvice
We went to Dr. Vick's yesterday for our 39-week visit. Samantha is still breech and I'm only dilated 2cm. So we continue to wait for her big arrival. Next Thursday, August 13, will be our official due date. I would love to keep her in there until then. I look forward to starting the school year with my colleagues on Monday, and maybe even my kids on Monday, August 17. Keep us in your prayers.
I just realized I had not given an update on the 3-hour glucose or Group B Strep. I passed the sugar test...but barely! It was only by 2 points at each hourly interval. And the strep test came back negative. Our next visit is this Thursday, July 23. It doesn't feel like she has turned yet, but we will see!
The house is now ready for Samantha's big arrival. Our dear friends Donnie & Tonia came yesterday and did a complete "Spring Cleaning"...from top to bottom! I slept better last night knowing that everything is in it's place and not cluttered...and dusty...we had lots of dust! And do not mention the air filter...wow! How long has it been?! Anyway, if you come visit now or after Sam's arrival...you'll see what I'm talking about...clean house!
We had our family/church shower Saturday, July 11, and it was WONDERFUL!!! These are the beautiful cakes that Tonia made... Me & my belly with all those gifts!
All those gifts made it to Sam's room. Thanks to all my family & friends for their gifts, love & support.
